I was asked by the fine folks at the Sewickley Public Library (http://sewickleylibrary.org) to display my fiber sculptures, and I jumped at the chance. A small exhibit of my felties will be on display at the library for the month of October. And since October means Halloween, I’ve included a generous complement of my needle felted monsters, creeps and trick-or-treaters.
This is the largest collection of my felties in one place — besides my work room — and I’m excited to see them featured among the books that inspired many of them. While some pieces are not for sale, others will be available for purchase. Twenty percent of any sales made through the library during October will be donated to the library. If you’ve never visited, Sewickley Library is a great public space, cozy and classic, with a full schedule of community events, local art displays and lots of space for catching up on your reading. So remember, this October, Reading Is Feltamental (wow, sorry about that one).
Awesome display! I like your work!
Thanks evenyeti1! I’m excited to have my creations on display and I’m glad you like my felties!
Nice to see Bigfoot catchin’ up on his reading. Anything to increase his vocabulary. Congrats on your library show! -v
Thanks! I’m sure Bigfoot is sneaking into the stack of books after everyone has left for the day and absorbing everything he can! Thanks for lending the big guy and Scout to me for the show!
Hi, via word-of-mouth (and there was also a nice write up in the Sewickley Herald), heard about your exhibit at the Sewickley Library and made sure to get down to see it last week before it ended. Was sorry I missed your demonstration. Your needle felting artwork is absolutely mesmerizing. I stared at it for a while on the way in, dropped some items off at the library, then just had to stare at it a while longer before I left :o) How wonderful your whimsical imagination is.
Thank you very much, Laurie! I’m so glad that you stopped in to see my exhibit and you like seeing the felties! I’m sorry that you missed the demo too, it was a lot of fun. Thanks again for the kind words!
